Steven Gustafson of 10,000 Maniacs
February 20, 2023 – My conversation with founding member and bassist of 10,000 Maniacs, Steven Gustafson. I knew that radio had a big part in 10,000 Maniacs making it as a band, but I didn’t realize just how connected the band was to radio in the early days. We talk about that connection and how it changed through the years. The band formed in 1981 while most members were students running the 10-watt non-commercial FM radio station WJWK, owned and operated by Jamestown Community College in Jamestown, NY. The band has released 15 records, performed over 1,500 concerts in 19 countries and continues to record and perform today. http://www.maniacs.com
